Spray Trigger (manual/pump) Bottle ADVICE WANTED

Everybody has some misc type of spray trigger Bottles in their garage.

I have many detailing products, wheel cleaners, tire cleaners, purple power cleaner, etc etc......I have some "better" quality sprayers also that were bought and not just the mfg "cheap" sprayer.......

Anyway wanting to know........

1) Why do these sprayers stop working with what are mostly water based products (some petroleum based ??). I can no longer get them to **** and or move product

2) Asking advice for what specific sprayer mfg or vendor sells a good sprayer[to be used on my existing bottles]. I have seen chemical resistant sprayers that claim to be higher quality etc etc..............and of course much higher in cost

Home Depot, Walmart, Griots, all sell the same basic PREMIUM sprayer for about $3 each, branded as Zep, Rubbermaid, and maybe something else.

Look for this spray head.

But more seriously, the squeeze pumps in the sprayers wear out over time. It's just a plastic piston. The one in the previous post is one of the best, but anything at all abrasive in the liquid will still trash it. Also, you've got chemical that will dry out in the nozzle, and close it up (even soaps do that). With a rattle can, you just turn it upside down to blow out the nozzle. That doesn't work with one of these.

The ones that you pump up with air last longer for that reason (though I haven't seen them in anything smaller than 1 quart).

Go to any large Janitorial supply house and there will be several choices. To revive an old one, remove pickup tube and nozzle, hold under warm water, pump away.

I got tired of replacing the spray heads.
I just cap the bottle with chemical in it and store the heads in a rubbermaid container.
After I get done using the sprayer I rinse it by spraying clear water through before storage.

I've had good luck with the empty ones they sell in the horse "tack" section of your local feed store for misting horses down. They seem to have better quality mechanisms than what you get at the box stores. YMMV.

Pricey? Those are like $50 each. I've got maybe a dozen spray bottles of various stuff.

Google one hand pressure sprayer, and you will get results very similar to the Wurth sprayer around $10 to $20.

County Air Pollution Control District have rules in place to restrict
the use of VOCs in pressurized refillable spray bottles. The San
Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District is considering a similar
rule. Check with your regional air district* before using petroleum
solvent based degreaser, cleaner or lubricant in pressurized refillable
bottles.
