I painted an old scooter body part with SEM custom fill 1 part and the result is not as glossy as I would like. I've used Spraymax in the past for other applications, so I'd like to apply this over the single stage paint. My question is what is the best surface prep.
I have very slight orange peel which I would normally sand with 1000-1500-2000 and then polish. I'm wondering if sanding it flat and not blowing through the color layer would give me the best result. The alternative is to polish it, which won't eliminate the orange peel completely but will probably be good enough for multiple applications of Spraymax.
Any thoughts?
PS: I've successfully used Spraymax as a final wet coat on top of gloss enamels and the results are very good if you are spraying a flat surface. Unfortunately this piece is complicated.
