Spreading the Bonney affliction!

Found a super old Bonney ratchet the other day it had the needle style reverse lever I don't own it but a guy I met selling tools has it and it's mint I'd be more than happy to give a lead on it or pick it up for someone he had many Bonney and bonicon tools

First eBay purchase since discharged from hospital. Had a short outing yesterday to a local flea market, but the two 1034s I had spotted on 5/14/17 were gone - only Williams and Cornwell remain.
Anyway, this lot had attracted me because of the 1945 Zenel does, all with decals. Because I could not read the number on it, I had vainly hoped the smallest was one I did not already possess, but alas, it's a dupe. Still, they have their decals, though each is marred with a few grinder marks. The AR(Jan1940) 3725B trumps my previous bare steel versions (both PWA1113).
The rest is gravy: a 21 from 1927, a 727 from before 1921, various CV from the 1920s & 30s, a couple K58 guages, and a P317 shock/stabilizer tool.

Small group of Bonney combos and a speed handle. 2 loc-rite and 2 outline to fill some holes. The speed handle was a $1 and it was the second week I saw it. So I finally gave in and added it to the stack of speed handles I keep accumulating.

Like the screwdrivers and hammers (at least the Stanloid-tipped ones, which have red paint instead of orange paint), likely made by Stanley. Bonney made forged products, and there isn't anything forged about these. It would be fascinating to find correspondence specifying the products and financial arrangement that created them, and whether Bonney made any components or complete products for Stanley.

The eBay vendor had stated that the ends were "still sealed," but that is contrary to their method of manufacture, and there was nothing but a tightened screw holding them together. There is a concave radius along the seam that springs a bit to hold the blade very securely, though in the "scraper" position, there is only the tightness holding the blade. I wonder how many separate blade covers have been lost from this style knife - probably all of them!
These are not going to see any use by me, since I have plenty of modern retractable and folding knives that are much better and safer.
And the last two pics show the Stanley version for comparison.

More Bonney from the Sunday flea market. Some idiot ground "Bonney" off the 1-1/16" combo, but it says Bonaloy on the other side. I think the plastic face of the Bonney hammer says "re-order Stanley tip 593A".
The best one for me was the Zenel 3116 (1/2") combo, thus completing the set of four. Still wish that carburetor wrench hadn't gotten away from me on eBay. Anyway, here's the family portrait of 1933 Zenel regular combination wrenches.
I saw but didn't purchase a big CV doe today that had apparently been forged twice, with "Chrome Vanadium" in faint large raised letters overstruck with clear smaller raised letters. Interesting.

What do you think of this "B-SHIELD" logo on the underside of the lid? The tools are Bon-e-con, which I have seen on the underside of other red boxes. Was there a period of confusion on what to call them, or is there yet another sub-brand in the Bonney house?

Not sure of the answer to the name thing, but the box appears to be legit. That question arose a couple months back, maybe on the Gazette, while two of the boxes with that logo were on EBay.

I picked up an English Stanley 199E with the blade cover last week, but it is the first I had ever seen with the cover.

The B-Shield is akin to the Bon-e-Con line. B-shield is 60's - 70's, and possibly 80's.

Great day for Bonney at the local fleas. Sunny & warm after a day of thunderstorms yesterday. A trove of single offset dbe, a handful of crowsfeet, and an E14 wrench.
Edit: DBEs slicked up for prom pictures. The 2818 is actually a Zenel, not CV, so I still have something to look for. And interestingly, the 2816 (date code JT) has a different-style decal, with a prominant (CV) instead of the shield. Most are U(1929) date codes, I think nickel-plated, have an abrupt transition from the shaft to the ring, and rounded-square ends to the deep depressed panels. "Made in USA" is stamped into one side of the shank. Zenel ones I have are brighter (chrome-plated), show a more gradual transition, and semicircular ends to the panels. "Made in USA" is forged in raised letters in the panel. But I am thinking these differences may be an artifact from later production dates.

Picked up these four wrenches today. The 9/16" x 1/2" stubby DBE with the RF43 stamping is similar to the 2805 DBEs but the offset is a little deeper and there is no date code. Anybody have an idea what it may have been used for or when it was manufactured?

I don't see it in early catalogs, but the RF seems to suggest a refrigeration application.

1/2x9/16 wrenches of all descriptions seem very common. I have three of the Bonaloy shorties, two CVs, and this PWA 1239, which has shallower offsets and does not have a Bonney model number.

Stopped in at one of my checkpoints today and spotted these three body tools. Too pricey for my current budget.
In 1939 the PH29 fender hammer was $3.35, the F31 file holder was $2.90, and the F20 combo spoon/bender was $2.50.
There was an extra vixen file and an F2 dolly block, but I didn't see "Bonney" stamped on either.
In 1938 the design of the file holder is different, and by 1946 the hammer and the bender were gone from the catalog, so I guess that bookends the probable dates.

It's called a Rabbit Wrench if I recall. Look at the early 1914 cat on my site. Quite sure it's in there.
