May work for you, but beyond my skills. Just where do I change the extension? Have you tried this from another computer that the .xls does not reside on and your not signed into your account?

Someone tried it in another post, "Car Loans" and worked for them.

When you click on the link, it should go into your downloads folder. You can change the .pdf to .xls there then open it.

This spreadsheet was for calculating temper drop across a window pane and along the edge. Picked it for the test because it was a small file.

I would not have guessed the two file formats to be compatible by simply changing the file extension. Will have to try that sometime. :)

If you want to go the other way and convert to PDF then you can always download the Cute PDF writer. Its a free app and it converts pretty much any file format to PDF. It installs as a virtual printer. Just open the file you want to convert, select print, choose the Cute PDF Writer printer then name the file whatever you want and it converts and saves the file in PDF format. Works great.

If you convert a spreadsheet to PDF, you may not be able to convert it back. By only changing the file extension the spreadsheet stays intact. We used to do this at work because the IT department wouldn't allow certain file extensions to go through the e-mail system. We changed the extension to something the system liked, then converted it back.

OK made it work. Did not change the extension. Using Excel to open the file, Excel said it was a different format, .PDF, and gave me to option to open anyway. Said yes and it came in looking ok.
