The weather has gotten so I can move the tractor outside and can make some floor space for a total re-org. I was just beginning a new project when I had to acknowledge the accumulated...confusion in the place. I've had a complete send-down. I've emptied every rack and shelf and am weeding out excess tools (I know, I know). I will go through every drawer. Both my SIL's will get a nice box of hand tools. There have been a number of, "oh, there it is" and "Ah-hah" moments. I've stacked the off-cuts by type of wood and organized the steel products as well. I have contacted folks who have stored things in my shop over the winter and asked that we move things out. I'm not a potter, but I have a pretty substantial kiln right now. I have a brand new boiler I'm giving a fellow and have been waiting for him to get over the pass to pick it up, etc.
I am excited to get past this and back to work in a clean shop. It will be nice.

As soon as I get back home to NY next week, my first chore is to sort the shop.
Ugh.
I think I'll stay in FL for a while longer.

I am working on cleaning up/tidying up one of my project cars to get it sold and open up some space.

I did a spring garage douche myself this weekend. A friend returned my 5' sand blast booth and my 25 ton press so I had to make some room. Looking forward to getting back to projects. Need to finish my 14' tilt bed trailer then get back to my '66 F-100 build.

i try to do this each spring, around march or april depending on the weather & temps. i usually pull most everything out to the drive, then clean out the garage sweep vacuum, then clean and put back the essentials and then sort out the things to get rid of.

been too cold here, still waiting for weather to warm up some

plus have to finish working on the 29 it is taking up room and blocks most of the garage door at this time.

It takes me about 30 minutes. I continually move out anything not needed, not being worked on. I obsessively strip the place, not providing warm storage for junk and cardboard. My shop is empty most of the time, I finish if I can.
The goal is to be pit stop ready, have been down that road of clutter, try to keep it to a minimum. Getting others stuff in the way is the worst.
Pic 1, shop floor, then a basement I shelved out to keep stuff too good to toss I don't want in the way, pic 4, building to store cap I don't want in shop and in the way.
