I made limited progress by following those suggestions, but this is the one that worked best for this particular scenario:I trick one of the guys in the shop did to stretch kickstand springs for install was to bend them and stick washers in the gaps. He’d alternate sides to keep spring straight.
Yep. There are tools for this very purpose, oddly enough....Spring tool.
You jest, but there's basically a miniature version of this tool sold for the purpose of installing motorcycle exhaust mounting springs.
