Spud Hammer??

I know what a spud wrench looks like, but this has a small hammer head complete with a claw to pull nails?

Any ideas?

Believe it or not, it's a M1912 picket pin used by the horse cavalry in the early to mid 1900's. See the thead below where I asked the same thing about the one I had.

Don't know about Calvary, but I was going to add I never saw many nails to be pulled when I was hanging iron.
