Square D QO vs Homeline

I am ready to get the breaker panel for my garage. I want Square D but would like to know the difference between the QO and Homeline equipment. The Homeline is about half the price, but is the quality there? I am planning on a 200 amp box but probably will never get anywhere close to the much load.

Thanks for your thoughts.

QO is not commercial. I have Square D commercial stuff at work. It's a whole different story (commercial generally uses bolt down breakers for one thing).

Also, QO USED to be mostly copper bus bars, but there are plenty that are aluminum now.
That being said, I like QO a lot, and the visible trip indicator is nice.
Homeline is pretty much the same as Murray/Westinghouse. Not bad either.

Nothing wrong with the quality of homeline, I have that in my house and just installed a homeline panel in my shed for a sub panel.

I install homeline all the time and works just as good as the QO. Only difference is the visible trip and money.

You know those Homeline breakers have passed every test that UL or anybody else can throw at it and passed the same as the QO breakers did. I can't prove it but I remember somebody telling me the internals of the breakers are exactly the same, different packaging.

Find a panel with a copper bus bar. Some may be tin plated and you might think they are aluminum, but the aluminum ones are shiny bright finish while tin plated is a much duller finish. Some of the copper are bare. Siemens makes bare copper bus bars, most of the GE are tin plated copper, Eaton I think uses tin plated copper also. Aluminum bus bars will not hold up in the long run, especially in a non air conditioned environment such as a garage.

Thanks to all for the advice and information. I bit the bullet and went with the QO box. In the overall cost of the new garage is was not a big difference.
