I am restoring an old butcher block and I need to source two square nut sockets to take this thing apart. Nut looks to be about 3/4 inch flat to flat, what size 12 point might work? A cheap source for 2 square sockets?
23mm would be your best fit in 12 point.I am restoring an old butcher block and I need to source two square nut sockets to take this thing apart. Nut looks to be about 3/4 inch flat to flat, what size 12 point might work? A cheap source for 2 square sockets?
Not if the nuts are in recessed holesAn open end wrench will work just fine.
scratching my head... how does a 10 point socket fit a square? You need Wright 10 point sockets! Go buy some!
Just have to hammer the wrench in there! Not if the nuts are in recessed holes
Yeah you do. I have never seen a boxed set like that with so many 4pt sockets and tools. I have seen pretty expansive pipe plug socket sets with internal and external square sockets, but they did not have the tools.I just get out an old square socket...

Its been mentioned many times that a 12 point will not work on a square nut. You need an 8 point sometimes called a double 4.Honestly, I would probably just use a 12pt.
