Squaring up steel building

Sorry if this has been posted already but I couldn't find anything when searching. I just finished hanging all the red iron on my 40x60 steel building and am ready to begin hanging sheet metal. What is the best way to square everything up before I begin with the sheetmetal? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

ml,

You will need to cable from the base of one column to the top of the one you are plumbing. Start in one corner and work to the other end. Once you have one bay done, torque the bolts in that bay.

Don't forget to plumb in both directions (don't laugh, I've seen that done), take your time and double check as you go. Use turnbuckles on the cables (you are going to need several) for adjustment. If you haven't plumbed a building before, try to find a local that has worked for a pre-fab or erection company. They can make your life a lot simpler.

Thanks for the advice. Do I need to leave everything strapped until the walls are up or just until all red iron is tight?

You need to leave it that way until you get some siding and roofing in place to keep the red iron squared. I think if you don't you will still get enough flex (even with the red iron fastened securely) that it may not hold it square.

Like jcs said, kept it strapped until at least the first two bays are done before releasing the first bay. When bay three has the siding and roofing done, release bay two. Continue until done.
