We should have everything we need. Diamondback decals, Rockshox decals, stem, bars, disc wheels, fox air shock, and the 1 by 8 setup. His sister has the same 1 by 8 setup and it’s been great.

What style stickers are they?

When I was a kid, you could buy virtually any of Schwinn decals (the water slide-off kind), the front plates, handgrips, fork-crowns and of course any other part from the local dealer.

Cheap and easy to make a "swin" loo like new....

Bought stickers off the Amazon. The DB stickers are good enough for my needs. The Rockshox were definitely a higher quality. Both, are vinyl, I think, and have that clear backing you remove, stick the decal down, and remove the top clear layer. Everything stuck really well, so I’m happy.

Got organized with the parts going on the Diamondback. Assembly begins tomorrow.
Finished shuffling wheels, tires, and cassettes to get the parts where we need them.
Also gave the seat post a rub of linseed oil to bring back a little shine.

That’s a nice space Xti, imagine the amount of bikes I could hang on those walls!
I know! I debating on wall hanging and thats where the kids bikes will most likely go, but this keeps my nice bikes tucked away from the stupidity that can happen in my shop!

Anybody interested in a fat bike hub drive motor and associated bits to build a fat tire ebike? Have speed controller ,motor, hand throttle etc, not a project I want to pursue any longer. All new stuff, just want it gone

As fun as I bet a fat bike e bike hub would be, I’m out.
Tossed the nice and in better shape derailleur on, but it was rubbing, even with the goat leg against the 9 speed cassette. Switched it out for a different Deore and it clears much better. On to cable’s tomorrow and it’s off to the bike bath.

Rear derailleur cable and housing are on, adjusted, and shifting nicely. Front brake cable is in and stopping. Of course, I don’t have a cable housing long enough for the rear brake! More Jagwire will be in this week along with grips…
Then we can get her out in the sunshine on the newly opened section of bike path overlooking the Atlantic!

Got the back Hookworm off and the Bontraeger mounted. The front fought me, like hard. Snapped 2 parks and 2 cheapies. WTH? I’m pissed. Ordered a set of 5 metal spoons that will be here Wednesday.

Remember to keep the opposite bead as deep in the " V " of the rim when trying to get the 2nd bead on. It can be tough with tubes.

For mounting difficult tires a beadjack is the best... I have the Kool Stop one, beats any lever and saves your hands.
Bead jack was the only way I ever got my tubeless tires onto my carbon road wheels. Life saver. I haveva set of Parktool metal spoons I have had for almost 15 years that I love. Have broken many a plastic tire lever, if I am in the shop at home the park spoons are the goto. On the road I keep some plastic ones but with my tubeless setup now on both bikes I have a plug.kit in the event of a flat.

What brand rim?

Bontrager and Matrix are known to be sob's to mount. I think ol Keith was smoking the good Cali stuff when he designed his rims lol.

It was an Arraya from 98’, but it was no match for these. I’ll never go back to plastic.

I’ve never seen this all blacked out look on an older roadbike.
This guy followed me home. He’s going to get a little super glue fix on the seat and bar tape and a boiled linseed oil wipe, but he’s ready to ride. Then we need to find a much taller than I dude to give him a new home.

Been struggling with the rear brake on my daughters Rockhopper. The frame was set up for hydraulic discs, but I went with mechanical as that is what I had at the time. It was never great and only got worse.
Ordered a hydraulic setup. Switched out the fork for a silver Judy I nabbed off a nice parts bike Giant. Tossed on the bottom bracket, crank set, and headset off that bike too. Then a Bontraeger stem and crowbar bar. Now she actually stops.

Small seat puncture glued, ripped corner of bar tape glued, and boiled linseed oil rubbed. She’ll get a chain lube, but she shifts and stops.

Picked up this 1988 Fuji Tiara. I’m not a road bike guy, but I’m a sucker for the late 80’s early 90’s look.
