Hello,
New to this forum and really enjoy the great info here. I just installed a 45,000 btu SRP tube heater. Minimum clearance to the ceiling is 3" at a 45 degree mount. Installed at 4.5", ceiling is osb. When it runs the ceiling temp at the leading edge runs at 175 degrees F which seems hot to me. The manual states the clearance to combustibles are rated at 90 F higher than room temp, meaning the temp can be 160F based at 70 F room temp. Does this seem right? Should I consider installing a heat shield to lower the ceiling temp?
Thanks for you insight.
