Ok guys what would you like to receive? A cleaned up, kind of cool vise older vise. A newly painted refurbished restored vise or a custom painted clamping devise.
See what I found and will soon be there under the tree for a good little boy or girl.

Lucky recipient. Personally I'd leave it as is, not beaten up enough to warrant a restore. I say just a good cleaning and lube. Maybe your intention is to have the recipient voice their opinion and act accordingly, sly.

Doesn't matter... could be a ready-to-go unit, or a project for a garage fiend... I think it'd be great either way!

Unique vise... I haven't seen one like that.

It is pretty cool, but not super HD. The base pivots and it will twist up to 90 degrees. The little jaws are in good shape and slide in and out to replace. I dont think it was ever used much.

Cleaned up and ready to use, or fresh painted in original color would work very well for me.
That thing is cool

While most of us would be happy with it as-is. The recipient is going to open the box & see an old vise that will look like it was found & just thrown in the box...

Whereas if it is restored the recipient will realize that some effort was required to make it look all new & spiffy.....

I wouldn't think someone participating in this SS event would feel that way. The average joe who isn't on a tool forum might feel that way, but not one of the members here. Just my opinion.
