I stumbled across it on Amazon and it seems like a fair price--however I can't seem to find anywhere that specifies what type of wood it is.

Is it a board?

Well, board is kind of a broad term. It's a work surface--but I'm not sure if it's some sort of MDF or butcher block, etc.
