Anyone buy one of the Stack on 19" pro plastic tool boxes? For about 25 dollars it looks like a solid box for work. I don't know how to do a link to it... but they are plastic with metal hinges and 2 metal latches.

I know it isn't the best box... but i don't have alot of money to spend. I would rather have a Snap-on metal box, but 185.00 is alot of money.

Have not had that box in particular, but I have used a 26" Stack-On box in the junkyards and for field repairs for years. I weighed it once and it had over 60 lbs. of tools in it at one point in time. This box has yet to fail!

Keep looking at other sources for your particular box. $25 sounds a little steep in price.

I have a Plano from Menard's. That I have been happy with. Also made in the USA. Looks very similar only yellow.

For a hand held box I would check at a local store first so you can check it out in person.

I have a 15 inch red Plano, 16 inch Rubbermaid, and 13 inch Stack-On. They have all survived more abuse than they deserved. And all were made in the USA.

I use my plastic boxes mostly for parts. I like bags better for traveling. They ride better, and I think are better with heavier loads.

The brown & green Gatemouth Jr was made in Thailand, the yellow HF bag was made in Pakistan, the black & red Craftsman was made in China. The Gatemouth is my favorite, heavy duty, matched well with what you could fit and what it is tough enough to carry. The Craftsman bag is heavy duty, but it is so big you could easily fit more hammers than you could carry. The HF bag is light and strong, it is the lightest duty of three, but I carry the heaviest (and lowest cost) tools it it.

I have a couple Stack-on boxes, not that particular one but the same design. They are tougher than they look. Sub-freezing temps have resulted in no breakage with considerable banging around.
