I bet if you got a 100 people to build a sawhorse, no 2 would be alike. Here is one more design.

I got tired of the sloppy sawhorses I had. I had the kind that fold on metal hinges that slip over 2x4's. I wanted a sawhorse that is very stable, stackable and relatively lightweight. So I modified a sawhorse I'v seen a interior carpenter use.

Everything is screwed and glued using PL premium. 3' long by 3' tall. If I wanted it longer I would probably beef up the horizontal member. But for this size it's plenty strong.

I just bought metal folding sawhorses from Sears. US-Made, very heavy duty and priced right at $25 or so. The adjustable legs are a poor design but once set up they are sturdy. See photos and specs HERE.

The legs fold completely into the top part, which has a handle on it. Perfect for my cramped garage!

nice design if you have the space. im currently using the crappy folding kind and just use more of them if setting up something heavy.

The guys that sided my garage made some just like that and left them also. They stack very well. They used a 2x4 though where you have the plywood?

I'm a huge fan of the folding plastic saw horses, I have a set that I got about 10 years ago, I've used them as scaffold, and cut into them a few times and they still do everything I ask of them, back when I got them they were $20 each now you can get a pair for that price and worth every penny, although the newer ones don't seem as stout, might not want to use the newer ones for scaffolding

Thank you 330Scott :)

Nbaff:
The angle on the legs is 16 degree's. But if your using a chop saw, the detent at 15 will work just as well :)
I cut the bevels with a circular saw. I would have prefered a table saw but I did not have it at the time. It's a little tricky to cut because you have to do it backwords.
If your serious about copying the design, I can post a profile drawing with dimmensions.

I'd like to see a dimensioned profile drawing. All I have right now is the metal clamp type with 5 pcs. of 2x. I hate them.

Folding saw horses.

I bought two pairs of these. Time is money and I had no scrap to build my own. They are great because they fold up nice and can be hung on the wall. They also have made the trip between homes many times so folding ones were a great choice. Great for holding body panels ( doors, hoods etc.)

Here are the plans.

The cross brace that you can't see in the plans is 30 and 60 degrees.

Very nice. I should have no problem replicating your design based on your dwg.
Thanks for taking the time to draw it up.
