Stacked switch box spacing

QUICK micro detail question... When stacking switch boxes vertically, is there an "industry standard" for the spacing between them? Or just whatever gives enough room for the wires to go in and out? I've got 2 three gang switch boxes both controlling lights.

Make sure they are far enough apart the the cover plates will not interfere with each other!!

COnsider the difficulty in getting an adequate size chunk of drywall in there without it breaking off.

Steel building, no studs, no drywall, conduit. Boxes staggered so conduit from bottom one comes up behind the upper one. Mounted on unistrut and spacers, etc to make everything fit. Solid as a rock.
