is it reasonable? specifically with an air cat 1055-th (500ft/lbs).

i have stacked extensions with non-impact ratchets, with variable results, which eventually caused me to get longer extensions. so far, i haven't had the need for a really deep use yet, but spending short money on a longer extension is a lot less painful than interrupting a job.

your opinions are appreciated.

A longer extension is always preferable. Each connection has slop that will absorb part of an impact's blow, resulting in less torque to the fastener.

More than two extensions on a stout impact jump around like crazy too.

Extensions are cheap. HF carries chrome moly impact extensions that are very good.

I'm a very big fan of Sunex impact extensions. They can be had for a fraction of what the truck brands would cost and perform very well.
