As a confirmed tool junkie I've been contemplating the purchase of a small set of ratcheting spanners. I came across a Stahlwille set with 8; 10; 13, 17, 19 mm that caught my eye. I've been pleased with my set of Stahlwille combos. I wondered about the angle of the ratchet ends and the robustness of the ratchet mechs and the reversing button. Since these are rare (to my limited knowledge) in the US, can any one offer experiences with Stahlwille ratchet wrenches?

Do you know if they are fully made in Taiwan or if Stahlwille make the spanner and then fit a mech from Taiwan?

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but I have the Stahlwille Fastratch wrenches. They are made in Germany, and I've found them quite useful for fluid lines. The one drawback is they can be a bit large in some situations. I've also found you can use them on metric or sae fasteners due to the way they close. Stahlwille website even confirms this.

I have the 14/17 set of Stahlwille ratcheting wrenches. They're made by Kabo in taiwan. the 17 mm is particularly clunky and rough. I've had some of the smaller sizes lock up but been able to free them. I wouldn't recommend them.

I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but i think Gedore is the only German-made ratcheting combo wrench.
