Yes, actually WAS mine.
Sold it last week with mixed feelings
Was completely sandblasted, welded and ready for paint.

But i sold it to make room and for $ so i can move on with my '65 split and buy some more tools.

My split was a former radio-wagon for the Austrian army.
I cut out all the rusted metal, now i need to re-start the project.
Already have almost all the new sheet-metal though.








and this is how i left it for the last few years at my parents house.
needs some finishing

Patina: check, dropped ride height: check. It looks finished to me!
I'm not sure about the wheelsize though...

This week my toolboards arrived.
Ordered some tools in the stahlwille shop, but they'll arrive next week.





After 5 years of wanting a tig welder, finally the moment has come!
Bought myself a ac/dc tig 200amp with integrated plasma cutter (hf)
Just after 1 day i am already feeling very happy with it.






For the moment i have put it on my stahlwille rollmaster, because it didn't fit my welding cart.

The garage looks great! On the welding try a bit more heat and less rod, also try pulsing the peddle gives you far more control over the puddle size

I've been practicing late all week. Playing with pulse settings and welding corners.

After some health issues the last half year, i hope to spend some more time in the garage.

Recently i bought myself a fume/dust extraction.
I already put it to work, i started building a shop lift table, with many thanks to sanddan in the welding thread for the plans.


The new extraction setup





This welding table makes it easy to clamp everything so it doesn't deforms when welding.

Hi guys,

Thank you for the interrest! And how are you guys doing?
For the moment i'm making some room to bring home my splitty,
so sold a few stuff ...

As always, to many projects and to little time.
Didn't really have picture, so i took a few with my cell phone.

I installed a air hose reel and electric reel. I installed it in the middle of the garage, so i can use it on both sides.






And i made an air-tool holder oud of an aluminium bar






Last month i bought myself a new bench/belt grinder. I already used it a lot.






I scored 7 of these little 80's bosch cabinets and clock.
I not really know what i'm going to do with them







And for practicing my tig-welding i made this adjustable shop table. almost finished.

Cool garage. I only found out about Stahlwille in the last two years and have become a fan.
What year is your Bug?
Stahlwille did the tool kit for VW's in 1973 - '74.

Wow!
Very nice toolkit! I didn't knew about that one.
My bug is a '74 1303s, not the prettiest model, but ride quality and handling is superior to the other models.
I also love the quality and the grip of the tools. "buy once, cry once".


I added these kitchen magnets to my workbench (from ikea) for holding things

A few months back a good friend asked me if i was interested in joining him in participating the "boucles de spa/bastogne" rally next winter.
This wil be the car that we're going to use, a '78 mercedes slc 500 5liter v8.
We just changed the plugs and plugwires and serviced the engine, overhauled the brakes, so now it is time to get it registered.
Next we're going to strip the car, weld it up in a few places and build a roll-cage.
And if we can get the parts, we're planning upgrading the suspension and diff.






My princess came to help (she loves hanging around in the garage / cars / bikes)

after waiting for 6 months for the doors of my workbench and still not ready ,
I decided to make them myself, a friend let my use his festool saw (what a great tool). They are testfitted, still have to paint them





This week we moved my splitty from my parents house to my garage, so i can get started

It's in!

Just finished the last things on my workbench.
I wanted to make doors to hide the drawers, but it didn't worked, the inner drawers hit the doors. So i cut the doors and converted them to front panels for the drawers. Not what i originally wanted, but now painted i am satisfied.

Since Sthalwille doesn't make tools for bicycles, i bought myself a parktool pk-65 toolkit.
Now i have to make an insert in one of the upper drawers to organise the new toolkit, because i don't like the look of the bleu tools hanging on the toolboards above the workbench....

Here is a picture of it open . . . I've always dug the orange screwdrivers.

Also i received my dad's old race bike, off course i couldn't leave it as it was, so i want to build it to my taste...

took it apart, sandblasted the frame and made an improvised paint-boot from the the welding table.

Love the Garage, looks very functional.
And the girlfriend is very envious of the Kombi, I can see me having to try and find one to buy in the future.
Stahlwillie were the first set of screwdrivers i bought when i was an automotive apprentice, and they are still working well for me nearly 20 yrs later.
Your pic of the Hazet assistant brought back a funny memory from when i first started as an apprentice, one of the guys i worked with had one(or maybe a copy) and he asked me to lower a car on the hoist back down to the ground. I held the lowering lever and looked over at something, and when i looked back the car was tilting off the hoist. I hadn't checked right round the car before lowering and the little Hazet was under the back end!!
I lifted the hoist back up and as the weight came back onto the hoist the Hazet promptly collapsed in a heap. I thought i was going to be paying for a new one on apprentice wages for the next 2years, but he was able to panel beat it back into shape...... and i've never done that again lol.

Hi I was wondering the size of the garage? Also if possible the height? I'm in the process of buying a new house, which has a rather large garage shaped hole, and thinking this may fit perfectly! I'm just looking at plans at the minute but really like the look of yours! Also how is the upstairs space? Is it a usable size?

I was pleasantly surprised to see my garage when i openend this site!

@kjdhawkhill and stickyrunner01 , yes i will also keep updating the work on the bikes, actually i am planning to open my own bike shop (repair and sale) at the end of this year/ beginning of next year if everything works out.

@oldsklrolla, thats a great story! i have mine from an retired colleague who learned me everything when i was an apprentice.

@ pozidriv and thomfr, Its nice to see some "locals" on this site

@ padi, The size of the garage is 7,5m by 10m. Its not that big, but i can get stuff done. The room above is still useable, i have some lounge seats by the tv for i have some friends over, and a double bed in case they can't get home (anymore)
