Maybe I'm just missing it on their website but what is the difference in the Stahlwille different series. 13, 14, 15, 16 specifically. Their website claims the 14 are the long patterns but they seem to be the same length as the 15's.:headscrat

Can Monte or the other German tool gods help?

I have 2 of the 14 series wrenches in 19mm and 15mm so I'm on my way with that set. Are the other series better?

Danke vielmals!

Looking at an older catalog, differences are minor, 14 series combination open & box in 15mm 215mm long, box offset and bent 10deg up, weight 109 grams. the 16 series only in 3.2, 3.5, 4, 4.5 5mm. The 15 series in 15mm is 215mm and weight is 109 grams and is called softgrip, cannot see any difference from diagrams.

13 series is shorter, 15mm at 170mm and weight at 73 grams and box end in non offset bent up at 15 degrees. All of them is AS drive, their version of I guess flank drive.

Hope this helps.

The 15 series is getting discontinued; notice the asterisk?

Besides, their 15mm is only 215mm long verses Snap-on coming in at 231mm. ;)

Generally there are 2 different combination wrenches in the DIN norm.
"Form A" with a angled box end and "Form B" with a offset box end.

In case of Stahlwille the "open box 13" wrenches are the "Form A" wrenches (15 degree angled box, short wrench, slim open end, short box (ring) end) and the "Open box 14" are the "Form B" wrenches (10 degree offset box, thick open end, long wrench, tall box (ring) end)

The "open box 15" is a "open box 14" but with "Soft Grip" open end (see pic)

The "open box 16" are the small wrenches with hex box end from 3,2mm to 5mm

1. I did note the asterisk but that doesn't explain the composition difference.

2. Is 231mm longer than your beloved CM raised panel 15mm?:lol_hitti

I'll continue building my series 14 :)

good idea !

When they were saying "soft grip," I thought they meant they were wrapping a piece of rubber around the beam. :D

Stahlwille not but Wiha :)

Great info on this thread. My metric set of SO wrenches stops at 19mm and I want to get some larger sizes. But the SO ones cost too much, and I don't even like their high polish finish. I'm going to be getting some of the series 14 stahlwille wrenches because they cost much less than SO, plus I MUCH prefer their finish. I think it's perfect. I'm also not worried about larger sized wrenches breaking and needing to warranty them very easily.

Stahlwille FTW!!!..i have 2 sets myself, the series 13 & series 14. The 13's because of its thin profile as compared to the 14's, and the 14's because of the length and better offset imo then the 13's. Nevertheless i also have Snap On Flank Drive Plus and numerous Matco wrenches as well but seem to prefer my Stahlwille's over them these days.
