picked this up from the flea today for 5 bucks. looks unused, just some scratches from being rolled around in a drawer with other tools.

its marked STNA. guy told me it was stahlwillie tools north america. you push the anvil through to tighten and loosen. there is no selector. zero backdrag i can feel.
he had other sockets and wrenches that were labeled stahlwillie. even if its not the real deal its only 5 bucks for what seems to be a quality ratchet.

i passed on the sockets and wrenches, but wow were they nice. some of the lightest wrenches and sockets ive ever picked up. almost thought they were not steel.

stage20,

Kabo Tools of Taiwan manufacturers the gearless ratchets for Titan, Sealey (a UK tool company), and others. Here is a link to the above gearless ratchet on Sealey's website: LINK.

I use Stahlwille combos at work, my set goes to 27. Another blokes goes to 55, especially in the bigger sizes, some of the nicest I have ever used. Expensive, but reasonable for the product you recieve. I much prefer then over my flank drive plus set, lighter, and more comfortable, however they are shorter.

Yes, Stahlwille tools are nicely made, but this isn't Stahlwille!

Think dede's got it right! Looks similar to Titan, and I've seen the same tools turn up under the Britool Hallmark brand as well (also Kamasa a few years back)! Sure they are all made in the same factory. As Taiwanese tools go they are o.k. but don't expect top quality! Fine for $5 I reckon!

Britool offered a British made tool along these lines for many years. I have one and use it often! The Taiwanese ones are not as good, and more prone to slipping.

I believe there is a firm making a similar tool in the U.S. for the aerospace industry (I've seen them around) but can't recall the maker!

You're probably thinking of the Omega Technologies roller ratchets.
