We do not suggest Ghostshield over a stain. Over untreated concrete, a single flood coat will suffice. Figure coverage at 300 Sq. Ft. per gallon and saturate.

SEC has much better performance for only slightly higher cost.
Yes, (2) coats.

I did 4 colors of acid stain under Ghostshield 8505. I have yet to see a problem, the stain shows fine but you will not get any kind of glossy look. Ghostshield works great for a working shop.

Penetrating sealers, like mentioned, offer very little visual benefit to any stain, especially acid stain.

Topical sealers make the colors pop while protecting the stain.

Agree with the pop. But never less you can discern the colors and random patterns that were put down as a first step. If stains do happen, and I’m sure over the lifetime of the shop they will. They blend in with the randomness of the stain that’s there.

RPH do you have any pictures of this? I've got 5 gallons of 8510 ghostshield that i'm going to put down and I initially wanted to stain/dye but eventually just decided to seal because I couldn't find many examples of what it would look like.

I took this pic a long while back. This represents an acid stained piece of concrete with ascending sealers. The entire piece was acid stained, then scored, then sealed. Starting with a densifier SW (penetrating sealer) , NW Water Based Acrylic, NE SEC Sealer, ending with a clear urethane SE (topical sealer).

Not only are the colors asleep, in the SW quadrant, but if left in the sun they will dissipate or bleach out. Even integrally colored concrete needs to be kept topically-sealed to look good.
