Stain on for new patio.

Brand new patio/house concrete pour. If I want to stain or do something like Rust Bullet on my patio, do I have to do any prep/etch ? or since it's new is it ready to go? and Which flavor of Rust Bullet should I be using?

Also, it's got that pitted/salted texture, should that be a problem to cover?

You DO NOT want to put an MC urethane product on a patio. It will fog.
You need a breathable sealer.

Acid stains etch the surface as they impart color, a smart way to go.

You're saying you like an acid stain as opposed (oppose?) to a water based stain? Or were you saying to acid etch it first?

I do like the acid stain better. It looks more natural and does make the surface ready for sealing through its muriatic acid base(etches).

Adds color and etches in one step.
