Staining Board & Battan

First off, thanks to all who have responded to some of my recent questions. New to the Board and appreciate all the advice given.....what a great site and a great bunch of guys!
26x32 pole barn garage (12' walls) going up. I'll be siding with pine Board & Battan and about ready to pull the trigger on some Cabot brand stain (Solid Color Acrylic Siding Stain) in barn red. Anybody use this stuff in the past or have something they feel is a better product. Plan on brushing/rolling it on.
I'll be posting picture once I get some time to see what's needed to upload the photos.
Pointers in staining the building from those with experience are always welcome.

You are on the right track. I’ve been using Cabot’s oil based stain on my house and barn for 25 years; it is a very good product. I have vertical channel pine of the house and ship lap pine on the barn. Application with a roller is the best method I have found.

I have just begun to use the acrylic solid stain on the deck and trim and it seems to be a high quality product as well. We’ll see how it stands the test of time.

Yeah normally I would go with the oil based product but I've heard the acrylic is just as good if not better. I was hoping to use a roller as that would speed things up for sure.

I used an oil based stain by Sikkens after much research on my vertical cedar siding. Cabot was on the list, but sikkens has a synthetic oil base that does not feed mold or mildew that can feed off of the natural oil present in some of the Cabot products. Wasn't a fan of the acrylic as it just lays on top of the surface where the oil seemed to penetrate better and seems to be easy upkeep. Clean surface and reapply stain, just my 2 cents
