Does anyone have any experiences with using stainless or corrosion resistant tools (such as the Gedore corostop line)?

I work underground and it is just destroying my tools, I have barely gotten 6 months out of all my knipex pliers and they are ready to be thrown away. None of the other guys even bother with anything but cheap tools that are thrown away as needed, but I would still like to stick with using quality tools if I can justify it by getting a longer life out of them

stainless works best in high corrosion areas like the ocean. But they are expensive. McMaster carries a full line of stainless steel tools for boaters. All coating eventually get wear off in corrosive environment. Best to get Stainless Steel tools.

This is a good site for stainless steel tools, they are pricey

for hex keys in metric and screwdrivers, I would look at the Wera Stainless steel tools. I take them on my buddies boat all the time when we go deep sea fishing, no issues what so ever. And cheaper then most other SS options for those items.

Just my two cents ...

To the op unless you are married to a rockefeller, JP Morgan or a ford family member, forget about buying SS tools unless your company buys you the tools. Your brothers in arms at your work place have the right idea, buy cheap then discard.
