Hello all - found a great table with backsplash and met all my needs. I'm mostly working on bikes and small house projects. Have another small bench with really heavy metal top for banging and welding stuff. Thanks aaron

Nice - we just bought a couple of those for one of the kitchens at work....I was thinking it would be a nice option. It even has a shelf on the bottom...

I've tried to snag a couple but they're either crazy priced half the time or they're so beat up from the restaurant that I wouldn't want them, I watch Craigslist for them.

I got several from a local auction. Some came with drawers even. Other items I won at the same auction were a very large restaurant sink and several metal racks.
It pays to keep checking the auction sites if you are in the market for such things.

I got one with a sink long ago from the company I worked for. Solid stainless steel and heavy. It had been used to process human tissue (bone) for transplant. The company shut down that part of the business. I took the table to my dad who used it to clean fish. He was the envy of his fishing buddies.

I got a big heavy gauge used one $200 from work, chef.
Its gonna be my welding/workbench.
A quick wipe and you can make sandwiches for lunch.
Surprised more people don't grab them, they beat the **** out of typical work benches that can be expensive.

Excellent bench OP . . . . how much did you have to give for it ??

Looks like you scored big time with the bench fitting perfectly for your space.

I scored a 6' one from my wifes work a few years ago. The manager said throw it in the dumpster. My loving wife called me, and I rescued it. It's a dual purpose at my house. It serves as a workbench when i'm wrenching on something then it serves as a buffet table for parties and what not in the garage. They clean up very well.

If anyone is interested in buying a brand new one resurantequippers.com has decent prices. Im no affiliated with them at all but i do manage a resturant and we get their catalog and they can be had reasonably brand new.

Or at least no worse than any other decent workbench

I have two of them. One I use as a freestanding workbench with the vice on it, the other I mounted on my fixed work bench. I love SS for it's toughness and ability to resist stains and easy of cleaning.

I got two new ones from e-bay, 24" by 48" for under $100 each, with legs and a lower shelf.

you will get a lot of bright flash off of it using it as a welding table

We have the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater not too far from where I live. A couple times each month there is a building where they sell all sorts of stuff that they no longer want or need. You can buy the stuff really cheap and since they have everything under the sun (not every time though) sooner or later you will no doubt find what you are looking for and you can buy it.

I suspect other State institutions do similar sales of items they are getting rid of. I have heard that in some cases people can buy things like floor scrubbers/buffers and in certain cases, even vehicles. I have not seen that at the Whitewater sales, but I don't doubt that in some places they do have sales like that.

Great setup! If my FIL hadn't given me two industrial workbenches way back, I'd have done this myself for my basement machine tool area.

Loved this type of gear when I was a sous chef in college.
