I plan to cover the tops of my built-in work bench with stainless steel sheet. I'm thinking of T304 .060" or .075" in thickness (16 GA. = .060") (14 GA. = .075"). I saw a company that bends steel perlins for metal buildings. The examples they show resemble the shape I have in mind only the flat section needs to be increased a foot or so. I would design the bench to use the fabricated tops and would weld to join them in place. I was thinking of a Restraunt Kitchen builder, but can't find one when I search. Any Ideas?

Lot's of stainless steel fabricators in the Detroit area. I had a company that specialized in commercial kitchen and meat packing stainless fixtures make some parts for my boat. Look up stainless steel fabricators in the yellow pages or use Google.

you have a couple of options
you can often buy used stainless kitchen prep tables for cheap
they are not strong enough for a work bench but can be improved or just salvage the top from them.
the other option is to buy the metal anf have it sheared and bent to your need. if you know someone at a school who has access to a shop you can get it done cheap or free
