For working on cars on my lift, I need both a transmission stand AND a support stand, as shown in pic below. However, I don't have the floorspace for both items in my garage, so I'd like to just buy a transmission stand and also be able to use it for a support stand. Has anyone done something like this???

They kinda look the same but different.
The issue with the Transmission jack is it rolls and hydraulic jacks never seem to hold it self in one place with out a lock.
The support stand does not move or have enough down ward play to allow you to get a transmission out of tunnel.

You could fab a different head for the transmission jack and pull the wheels or jack them up but think will be more bother than worth.

I use mine for support and don't have the others. Have some old porto power extensions I use on occasion.

Oh man, that's perfect, thanks. So you just remove the arms from the top of the ****** stand and then a piece of wood serves as a support base???

Have you had any issues with it rolling around or the hydraulic cylinder leaking down??
