I prefer QR on 1/4 drive ratchets, especially when most of the sockets are smaller than the head of the ratchet. I have a harder time pull off the smaller sockets than the bigger ones, when my hands are oily.
I would like to add that I have this issue with shallow sockets and oily hands. Semi- deep which I usually go for, are usually not too bad, deep sockets are easier.
I like to put the socket wheel adapter thing on if the space is not confined, as it makes it easier for me to take the shallow sockets off. I will as someone else mentioned use multiple ratchets, as I find that is quicker than swapping sockets. Even quicker than swapping sockets with my cordless impact with QR extensions, unless the run out is long.
I also like QR on flex head ratchets.
I prefer standard ratchet movement as I feel it is more precise. There is some give and take, nothing is perfect, but for me the 100 tooth roto head gets the closest to perfection.
