For something Ive got to really lean on and have lots of room, hard handle. For something that's greasy and dirty, chrome. For everything else, comfort grips.
Metal handle all the way. Just feels better all around. Plus I think it's way easier to clean. Comfort handles can tear and start to rip, especially in the 1/2" drive after you get a job where you really need to put some strength into it
Either chrome with really good deep aggressive knurling, or the soft grips. It's all about actually being able to hang onto the ratchet. I hate smooth chrome grips. Way too slick when your hands are dirty.
snap on soft grip for most cases, just feels good in the hand, but any chance of cutting the handle its chrome i reach for. actually, every sence i exchanged my soft handle, i havent use it, to scared to get it dirty
My go to half inch is a hard plastic. (just because it's my longest one) my favorite 3/8 is soft grip (which I chose) because it's a long flex head... But I use chrome most in 3/8 because that's what I mostly have...
