I was just wondering what actually bought, it was in a box with a few other machinist items. On the big one there is a 2 stamped on it and a 4 on the smaller. No other marking or stamping I could see on it. Can someone help me one what I have? I cant seem to find anything as I find standard tools not Standard brand.

These look like gauges but for what I could only guess. The script looks very similar to that used by "American Standard". Any chance these are 4" and 8" in length?

I'm guessing that those are not standard machine shop tools. Are the edges ground? Do they measure parallel on each side end to end? Very likely something that came through the shop and did not meet standards, or were sample parts, so the machinist kept them cuz they were cool and may have re-purposed them to use as a tool or gauge.

The larger is marked 2 and the smaller is marked 4. Lots of laughs and chuckles though to recent responses. I'm thinking these were manufacturer specific but need more info from the OP.

thanks for the help so far...(only have 6 inch rule but goes to 32nds )
BIG 3 7/32" high by about 9 3/4".. 5/8 think but only 1/2"machined.
LITTLE 2 15/32" high by 6 inches and is 5/8 thick fully machined.

both long sides are machined flat short sides are in like raw form. Every where is true as in I got 2 15/32 every where I measure along the edge on the small one.
