I'm looking for a set of screwdrivers to keep in one of my vehicle kits. I found this set of Stanley 100 Plus Screwdrivers since it covers the sizes I want fairly well. I'm a little reluctant to buy them since I was under the impression Stanley is good for dropping the quality on their products. Does anybody know if these are still a decent product?

I just bought some from zoro last year and they were US made and very nice. I did see the COO changed but have not seen any from anywhere other than the US to confirm it's actually true and not a mislabeling or confusion.

The COO thing had me scratching my head since they are listed as US made on Proto's site, but Zoro says Taiwan. I'm not opposed to imported if the quality is there. Maybe I'll order a set and see what I get.

Not sure if them handles may start to smell like a tackle box.

You can get the Proto DuraTek ones for not much more money. They are resistant to chemicals and will not melt.

If I was the only one using these I'd spring for DuraTek screwdrivers since I like the ones I have. In this instance there might be a few other users and I want screwdrivers that are a little more expendable.

I have a bunch of these drivers. They were supplied by my employer at the time. When the plant closed we were told to take all the company issued tools home with us. That was 20+ years ago. I'm still using them at my subsequent employers. No complaints whatsoever.

65K10,

I have a bunch of the Stanley 100-Plus drivers and they are great old-school drivers, but not as **** as some of the other high end drivers.

I've bought mine used over the years and they hold up well; great tips, great shanks, great handles, and some have the hex bolsters that help in high torque situations.

These are no-nonsense, no-brainer, screw drivers at a very reasonable price:thumbup::thumbup:

Just my two cents...

I always thought of those Stanley 100 screwdrivers as being MAC or Proto blades stuck in a different handle :dunno:

I know i like the ones i have:thumbup:

The eight piece combination Duratek screwdriver set is outstanding too!! buy the set with bolstered blades.

These are my all time favorite “cheap” screwdriver. I love finding them at flea markets and pawn shops because I can buy them for sometimes less than a dollar each. They are very tough and well made.
