I don't personally have them, but that's because I'm not a fan of Stanley hand tools in general. Are there other options you are considering?

The problem with Stanley Tools is they tend to sell different tools, made to different quality levels, in different markets. Some of the same French tools that were being made and sold by Facom were also sold under the Stanley brand in some markets. The Facom manufacturing facilities were also manufacturing some Stanley branded tools as well as tools for other Stanley owned brands.

I don't own the Stanley cable cutters you linked to. The price in the USA is pretty low and the cutters are supposedly made in Thailand so I don't know what the quality would be like. The reviews on Amazon in the USA make it sound like Stanley might have changed the design or OEM. The reviews are problematic since the description doesn't list the material the cutters are made for, and people seem to have purchased them to cut steel. I these aren't meant for cutting steel.

You're not trying to cut steel are you?

I have a pair with the same shape blades as the Toptul ones linked to above, the 8" ones dont slice either 35mm powercable or 400series coax cleanly in one cut, gotta go back and take a second bite from the opposite side to severe it, thats why Im looking for a set with a longer blade like the Stanley.
Ordinarily I wouldnt bother asking I'd just buy them, and try them. But Stanley stuff can be really hit and miss. As noted above, they sell different quality in different markets, and we appear to mostly get the **** here.

knipex - $26 on amazon right now... all the hand tools im using at work right now are knipex and they have held up better than everything else. i dont personally own these, but if i needed/wanted a set - this is what i would go with.

dont know if amazon works for where you are, but maybe you can source them from somewhere else if needed?

Some of the reviews on Amazon said that Stanley changed the design of the cutters, but they seem to have kept the same model number.

It sounds like to older model was slightly longer at 8.5".

The newer model is slightly shorter at 8" and may not be able to cut as large a wire, although the size of wire you listed should be within the capacity of both.

I tried checking some prices for the for some cable cutters for Australia. If the Stanley cutters are that much less expensive than an alternative brand like Knipex they might be worth it. I saw prices for the Stanley cutters that were between 20 and 45 Australian dollars. If the price was towards the higher end I'd probably look at other brands.
