Saw this in an antique store today and grabbed one quick photo.

This is (in my opinion) a beautiful screwdriver. It is large (around 9" OAL) and in good shape. I might have bought it, but the price was high and I am not sure about the tip. Is this possibly a factory tip?

I wish I would have got a detail photo of just the tip, but conditions did not allow that. If the tip was field modified, it was not obvious.

I am not aware of that being a factory tip, but anything is possible. My best guess is someone like a worker in the field needed to improvise the tip in order to get the job done.

I happened to be back in this antique store two weeks ago and while pawing through tools came across this Bell System marked screwdriver again. I guess the 3 years of shelf life proves that others also think the $7 price is too high.
