I found a Stanley bostitch ridge runner at a pawnshop for 50 dollars, used gun. Can’t find any model numbers on the gun itself. Are these good sturdy guns? Why is the nail length capacity? What are the thoughts on this roofing nailer?

Not a bad price if it works. These older guns can take a lot of abuse and are very sturdy. They are also heavier than there modern day equivalents, which can be a downside. They are capable of the 1-3/4 coils that come with some continuous vents. Rebuild kits are reasonable. Some had a T shaped driver pin that with age would start randomly driving nails incorrectly.

I still have one that I used for years. It served me well. A lot of people I knew had Senco's and it was a better gun but the Bostich made me a lot of money and has never had a repair.

Good gun. I have 2 Bostich roofing guns myself. Just give it a little oil before you first start using it.
