I doubt you will see anything until Q4 at the earliest only because the contracts with certain suppliers are expiring in the next few months and most of them will probably be terminated rather than renegotiated knowing Stanley.

Being someone who is in Sears on a weekly basis, the vast amount of misinformation that I hear and read about regarding the SB&D/Craftsman deal is astonishing. You'd think they'd keep people up-to-date.

The effects of SBD purchasing Lennox, Irwin and Craftsman in the past year are still being felt. Inventory levels in a lot of their companies have been very low all year. Personally, with Facom, it's taking me months rather than weeks to get certain products from Europe. SD

Steve, my feeling about SBD purchasing Newell-Rubermaid's tool business was that this could only make things better as I thought N-R had done everything possible to screw up great American companies particularly Vise-Grip. Talking to Lennox's reps at AAPEX they seemed really happy about it. Do you feel otherwise?

I'm not saying their purchases of N-R and Craftsman didn't have strategic merit. Simply that SBD is using cash to pay debt rather than to replenish/build inventories. Its been very obvious for Facom dealers over the past 6 months. Mac and Proto are probably also experiencing shortages.

Can't say I'm looking forward to seeing any really ,I just don't see it ever being an upper level top shelf brand it never was never will.

I just boxed up all my Craftsman USA tools which was alot too much to mention let's say 500 sockets alone and sold it all for $65 just to get rid of it.

Needed space my dad just gave me his whole Snap On collection Woot and I don't miss the craftsman at all it doubled my already large Snap On collection.

I know this has been rumored, but I personally haven't seen it confirmed until now. SBD says they will honor the old lifetime warranty.

^There has been a lot of speculation on that, and unless Stanley really is going to make hand tools stateside I think they shot themselves in the foot. Based on that statement, I'm betting only some power tools will be "assembled" in the states as SBD already does with Dewalt. Everybody else seems to think that Stanley is the savior and bringing hand tool production back. At this point it's all speculation, but I'm not getting my hopes up until further details are revealed.

Toolguyd had a video a while ago about these DeWalt tools built in the USA. They're doing way more than I expected, including winding motors here and everything.

I thought it would just be screwing imported parts together, but it's actually more than that.
