Lately I've been putting together a tool bag to keep in my Jeep and I've been paying attention to finding quality items that aren't tool truck brands.

Regarding linesman pliers, I've really taken a liking to the Stanley Fatmax pliers with the built in wire stripper. They look, feel, and function really nice. And I say this even as I own a couple of other linesman brands such as Klein, Tekton, etc.

Anyone else notice the quality of Stanley's lineup of pliers (not just the linesmans)?

I'm way past the China issue that a lot of people have issues with...so save those comments. Stanley seems to have found a Chinese manufacturer that can make good tools.

If they work for you then why not. I personally am just not impressed with any of their pliers.

SBD (parent company for Stanley) has several brands that CAN make good tools. I like Proto pliers in particular.

If you like it stick with it.

COO is a personal thing for a multiple of reasons. Virtually everything in Lowes, HD, and HF is from China, so obviously a lot of people are comfortable with it.

How many posts do you need to make within a short span of time about Fat Max pliers? Did your last one not get enough responses?

I need just as many as do those who make love to their Snap On stuff - or in your case..Proto.

My question here was specifically in regards to the Linesman Pliers.

Ok that's good to know. I don't have a job where I use my tools all day long. I guess I'll just have to wait it out and see how these hold up. Thanks though.
