I wish I could order the 96" online. I grabbed two sizes I didn't have for store pick up. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up!

I slipped over to Slick Deals and boy... to listen to those folks cry because Menard's has a processing and shipping charge. They think that the level that costs $100 at Lowe's should package and ship itself to their homes for $25.00 total? I on the other hand was glad they would ship the stuff to me! I ordered a selection of eight different levels (none of which was the 96" unit) and paid a total of $28.26 in processing $7.00 and shipping $21.26. They didn't access a sales tax so that more than offset the processing fee.

Well, include me in that. They charge $3 per item sku to do an in-store pickup. Now that might only be for picking up items that are already in store, but that is something NO ONE else does. Though when you talk to any manager in the store, they think it is normal. I suggested he try checking out on ANY other website, and let me know when he finds another.

The 72" is also on sale, $34.99 with a $15 mail in rebate. Not a bad price on that too, and that one is stocked in stores.

Menards is often the same price as Amazon or other online sites without the overhead. They do some things a bit odd, but they also staff their stores and work differently in general... and they do have good prices. It is normal - for Menards. Lowes and HD are nationwide public retailers that have higher prices, higher levels of store staffing to fulfill orders, better online presence (although Menards is fairly impressive I must say) and are not run by insane people like John Menard.

To have an associate go around the store picking up things like a box of nails/etc. costs money. HD and Lower chose to amortize that into the price of everything they sell. Menards simply chose to charge the customers who utilize that directly for the service. I wish it was free, but its' their choice... and twice for various sale reasons I've utilized it.

I hate when people ***** about fees and things. The cost of any good is what it is... the price of the item plus all the $$ it takes to get it to you, whether that be shipping, handling, membership fees like Costco or Prime, etc. If I have to drive to pick something up, I add in the cost of gas, mileage, and my time before I arrive at a price. I also add in a perceived value for where I am shopping... if for a bit more I can support a small/local/etc. business, that adds value for me. Add it all up, you've got your price. Find it lower somewhere else... buy it there.

I can't say I disagree with any of that, except maybe that part about other complaining. LOL. I am swayed a little in my thinking, but for face value, it seems like Menards is almost anti-online shopping. I suppose with their wider range of offerings, it makes even more sense to get shopper in the door (vs HD or Lowes where everything is available online).

Now I remember why their fee really irks me. When I did do an online order for pickup, I was directed all the way to the BACK of the store, to an area that was not staffed (apparently it usually is, but not my visit). It took me 5 minutes to find my order, then go back up front to have someone stop me and say they need to check my order. So they charged to inconvenience me. I get large items in the back, but I was expecting a quick & out for what I got, seeing as I paid extra, but hardly the case.

and then for this level deal, they charge $2.80 per sku to pick & ship it to me +shipping, but free for in-(the back of the)-store pick-up. Seems like someone who did infomercials (handling fees) is running their website

Great deal, thanks to the OP for posting.

Yes, thanks Tiny Garage. I have feeling I wouldn't have had as much of a choice without your posting. I just received the flash-sale email from Menards 2 hours ago, or at least that's the time I see in the inbox now that I look closer. When I go into the email, it says it was sent at 11:30am. WTF? It took Menards & google 8 hours to deliver it to me? Guess that's why I visit here & toolguyd before I start any other browsing

Are those good levels? I live a few blocks from a Menards. I could go pop in and grab one. I only have a cheapo 24" box level currently.
