Not really a smoking deal but I still think its about half of retail

$6 shipped for an aluminum Stanley Square

I know I looked at those $2 squares at the last menards sale and when compared to other squares in the aisle the cheap ones did not match up with better ones so I passed. They seemed to be about 1/8" off across 6" . I did watch some guy come and grab a handful of them though:lol_hitti Hes probably still trying to figure out why his projects keep coming out like ****. Im hoping these Stanleys are a little better quality

What's crazy is the two pack is not 2x the price... it's over 5x the price! Someone at Amazon is smoking crack.

The Swanson Speed Square is the original, made in the USA, and Amazon has them for $9.98. That would be my first choice.

I bought a Swanson about 6 months ago and immediately sent it back. SLOPPY quality control in my opinion. The measurement lines weren't painted correctly at all. I ended up picking up a 6" craftsman with some points I had to burn.

I have one. $10 is normal price at any retail location maybe $12 if you are getting jacked around.
I wasn't implying that the Swanson was some kind of hot deal price, only that I'd rather pay $10 for one of those than $6 for a Taiwanese copy.

Is it just me or is the Swanson just way too imprecise? The markings are like 1/8" thick......I realize its not a finesse measuring tool, but the Stanley markings at least look somewhat finer.

Beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. And it comes with the book.

This is for laying out work with a circular saw, not dovetails.

I noticed that and checked.

The seller of the multi-packs isn't Amazon. It's a marketplace seller, probably a sleezeball that does this with multiple products. If you accidentally buy from them, mostly likely they will just place multiple orders with Amazon and pocket the difference.

Another type of Amazon seller slime will hold the order until they find an even lower cost supplier to drop-ship, eventually canceling the order if they can't make a profit.

Same square is the same price in-store at Home Depot. I bought one a few weeks ago for a deck rebuild I'm doing. I've used it a good bit. I like it. Nothing fancy, but no complaints. I haven't really used it for angles or anything (yet), but the alignment is true and the markings are easy to read.

-Sorry! My mistake. I thought I got it in-store, but it's actually on-line only. I've been ordering a ton of stuff from them online, so I guess I got this online and not in-store.
