image.jpgI have this orange Stanley Phillips head, and it says neon on it. I can't find even the keywords on Google. Can someone explain why, and any info about it? Thanks

Suspect it just refers to the bright orange handle, in theory making it harder to lose. I have a near identical Craftsman #2 phillips around somewhere, if I didn't lose it.

looks like their late 80s-early 90s hi-glow screwdrivers. I believe they were US made, but I don't know much more.

Thanks! However it doesn't say hi glow. Do you know if these "neon" ones are obsolete or something?

Sorry, i dont know. The hi glow ones were sold at local department stores. Nothing special at the time. My guess is the neon ones are the same, just from a differemt store. Probably just about non-existent anymore.

I just remembered it was in the same box as a Stanley 64-886 flat head and I lost the Phillips one

I have a few Craftsman neon handled screwdrivers. If I remember, I'll take a look at what they say when I get home later today.

Would these always be in sets or sometimes sold individually? Also, anyone know the difference between these and the hì glows?

This from a friend who worked at Stanley...

They were manufactured in the USA in the early to mid 90's. They are no longer in production. I don't know if there was a difference, however, they did make a variety of hand tools/tapes that were similar in color. I haven't seen them in years...(other than those pictured...)...

Hope this helps...!!!

I have the pink straight-blade and the orange Phillips. The phillips is my favorite screwdriver. I got them out of the bargain bin at a True Value in roughly 1994 - I was moving and had already moved my tools but needed screwdrivers to fix something on the way out of the apartment. I'm pretty sure they were sold individually.

Since this topic has been bumped, I did pick up another green straight blade used locally a couple years ago, the first I have seen in the wild.
