Back in the day, Stanley power tools were a step up from Craftsman. I've got and still use an all-aluminum-body Stanley 3x21 belt sander.

I have a hard time believing that 20 years from now I will be posting about how I still use my stanley power tool to this(that) day. I hope so, but I am sceptical

When I emailed everyone a week ago, nobody could tell me anything about the new tools. Now that I went live, I get an email within 5-mins telling me it may be a Ca-specific launch.

I'm still not sure about that as I spied several new tool designs. Maybe those will soon be released under the Dewalt label? Who knows.

I highly doubt these power tools will be any different than your run of the mill big box store tools, except for the name.

You already posted your april fools day joke............Wait today is April 2nd so this must me true...........................

Fat max stuff is pretty stout but as far a power tools I'm going to wait on some reviews. Before I read your post I was looking at the tools and thinking they look quite similar to dewalt. After reading your post you confirmed my thought on that. So consumer grade dewalt is what this is going to be.

Maybe? Nobody will give me any meaty info, so I'm forced to go according to my own insight.

My guess is that they are re-bodied porter cables built to look a bit more like Dewalts. The 12 volts definitely look like porter cable tools. Maybe these are for Wal-mart, there are a lot of Stanley tools on the shelf at Walmart

These are supposed to be Canada-specific, but Menard's has gone and started stocking the circular saw, supposedly for a limited time only.

Anyone use them yet? My Makita finally kicked the bucket and I'm eyeballing the page for the FatMax @ $60.

It's pretty feature-rich for that price.

You're right, Porter-Cable it is.

I found a site with a lot of pictures of it. The pics and the specifications match up perfectly with the PC15TCSMK. The only difference appears to be that it comes with a nylon bag instead of a blow-molded case.

So it's a re-badge of a saw that gets pretty good reviews at the lowest price anywhere. Guess I'll try to get over there tomorrow to pick one up. Got a project this weekend that requires one.

Long ago Stanley made some very high quality power tools, one of which was the largest router I've ever seen.
