I have a set of them. Bought them off ebay just like the link you posted but didn't pay that much. No where on them does it say Stanley or Proto, only precision series and they have a "satin" chrome finish. I wouldn't really call it chrome. Obviously they are a Tiawan special and I felt ripped off when I bought them. They don't say proto on them and I couldn't find them in a Proto catalog at the time.

That said they work ok but I wouldn't pay $50+ for a set.

The Mac Microtough ratchets are the same. They even come in the same tray but with a Mac sticker instead of the Proto sticker.Handle is slightly different but the head is the same.Same thing with them,no Mac stamped in them anywhere. My 1/4" is one of my favorite ratchets,it's very fine.I'd like to find another one to cut down and make a stubby out of.

I believe these were also sold as Husky Pro MicroTough. I got a 1/2" model 24902P and 3/8" model 24901P when Home Depot was clearing them out a year or two ago. I have read these don't hold up well under heavy use and that contributed to their being discontinued. Nice to have for tight spaces.

The 1/4 I have has been holding up very good for 3yrs for me. Every now and then it "locks up" So I have to spray it out with brake clean, followd by some penetrating oil.

If I could get them cheap enough I wouldn't mind buying some more, but it would have to be around $15 each.

My dad has the Husky with an ergo handle. I really like it but he does not use it much so he has not run into the durability issues. I think it was USA made.

I have a set the don't get used too often because I don't like the reverse levers. They are handy due to the fact heads are so small (think 1\4 in a 3\8 body small) Also I only paid 15 dollars for mine on sale and that was when they came out, so the price on Ebay seems high.

A picture from here on the garage journal (not my picture), but I have one exactly like this one. I love it and use it all the time. It will lock up from time to time, but a small tap on the head and it will free up. I had it made up twice on the Mac truck and the third time it was no longer available. I chose to deal with it than to get something else.

Cotjocky, I can't tell if that's the 3/8 or the 1/4 drive. I've got the 1/4 drive, and I'm like you, had mine warrantied twice several years ago. Found out they're no longer available, so now I baby that thing and only use it when absolutely necessary. IMO it's sort of a piece of ****, but I love the fine tooth mech, and the locking flex-head.
