Hi I have been using and collecting Stanley screwdrivers made in Australia,
here is a sample of Insulated blade screwdrivers 3/16 or 5mm ( we went metric in 1974)
Stanley tools bought turner tools in Melbourne and rebranded as Stanley in 1963 they used all the turner moulds . Stanley Australia ended around 2000 and all the manufacturing shipped to China, the Chinese copies are horrible and they do not have the correct tolerance on blade and will not fit electrical equipment properly.
And the big question Yes the cost more than locally made products.
(The photos are of late 80s Stanley with the modern handles )
