Here’s another of my Dad’s tools. He used to work for FOK (Farwell Ozmun Kirk) which was the predecessor to United Hardware (Hardware Hank distributor). He was a hardware buyer back in the day.

This thing is a beast! I like the Railway shipping tag on the box.

Nice piece, especially since it was your dad's. Still running after all these years is testimony to how things USED to be made. I like it.

Here’s a cool tool story that I was able to partake in. Years later, my father was part of a fiberglass start-up company. They made the first fiberglass hammer handle (I’ve got tons of story’s on that one alone) among other products, they also made push-broom handles. One day he went to Sears headquarters and a meeting with the head-buyer. My father told this guy a thousand different ways that he could not break the handle and the guy was just not buying it. So finally he agreed to see it for himself and he and my father went down to the street. Somewhat blocking traffic, my dad put a broom handle from the street and up on the curb and my Dad then proceeded to drive the front wheel of his Caprice Classic up on the handle and the BF Goodrich’s just drove up on the sidewalk. The handle didn’t even crack. The guy stood there silent. So with my father now standing on the bumper and me on the hood - the guy said “you’ve got yourself an order”... Ha! My Dad told that story for years and years after. I was a lucky first hand witness to it’s history, his salesmanship and not taking No for an answer...
