Stanley vise...

Popped up on cl for $40 firm. Not buying but thought it was cool. Any idea on when it was made and if it’s USA?

Stanley first started making that model in 1949 and made it up till they quit making vises which I believe was around 1970 but I’m not 100% on that date.

Interesting, I have 2, 1 black and 1 blue. I wonder if that red is OEM? One of mine has removable jaws, other doesn't, don't know if that affects the color? Well made for a small clamp on vise, $40. is pretty good money, but not completely out of line, IMO. Oh, and yes, made in USA.

I got one of those too, and mine is Red. Original paint for sure.

Here's my 2 inch version. I believe it's all original. Surprisingly well made for a clamp-on vise: solid machined slide, 1 piece dynamic jaw, precise fitting replaceable jaw inserts, extra sturdy clamp, etc.
