Started a 28x28 today

Got the footers dug today,got the pipe for the electric in,and got the floor drain in place today.I will keep the pictures coming as I go!!

I am located in Pa.I am just getting it outside the structure for now.I have not decided how I will finish of the end!!!

Can you tell me a little more about that floor drain? I assume that it has metal grates/ is safe to drive over? I am puzzling through how to solve a drainage issue that my current carport has (water runs across the floor in heavy rains) before closing it in as a garage. I'd have to rent a concrete saw, but I think I could manage to install that once I got it cut. On the other hand, the whole slab may come out, so... I'd just be diverting rainwater, and the output would drain to daylight on the other (downhill, slightly) side of the roof.

How's it sold? I assume in some kind of 4' or 8' sections? If you don't mind, what do those run each?

I bought it at lowes. I paid around 100.00 for the 8 ft section I got. It is made of heavy plastic.I think it will be ok to drive over,if not I will have metal grates made for it!!!

Got the footer poured today!!! I am ordering block tomorrow. The footer took 7yd.

Me and a freind layed 400 block today!! Back fill and we are ready for concrete floor!!

Finished backfill and got the wire in. The floor is set to be poured on thur. oct 11. I will try to get pics up tommorrow!!

He ain't lying. We had those drains installed this summer when we redid our driveway and garage floor. The drain is installed in the driveway apron, parallel to and the same length as the garage door. The crew drove over the drains with bobcats, front-end loaders and an asphalt roller. They did this when the drains were installed, but before they were actually embedded in the asphalt, it was poured around the already installed drains. They all the abuse and came right back for more. I love 'em.

Layed the rest of the block Sat. Sun. I ancored the sill plate down. The lumber is to be delivered Wed. morning. Cant wait to start framing and see what it is going to look like!!!

I have the same drains in my garage for the last 12 years, we drive over them every day,drag jacks over them , even pallet jacks with a full skid and never had a problem with them

Got the wire ran and the boxes in place and started to insulate and drywall.

That doesn't look like a lot of insulation in the ceiling. Are you going to add more after you get the drywall up?

I insulated the ceiling with R-19 and the walls with R-13.I got the R-13 off e-bay. I paid $80.00 for 16 rolls witch is enough for the whole garage!! I had to drive about half hour to pick it up!!! I will be heating it with a pellet stove.

Here are some pictures of my garage doors inside.I have been very busy with the holidays and finally got some time to post some photos.I have decided to heat with a pellet stove.I picked it up for 285.00 and it was wise investment.It gives off perfect heat for finishing drywall!!!
