Started on the shop this week

Well, since my friend was home from school for christmas and hada few weeks left till he had to go back, i thought we could start on the loft in shop this week. Moved a lot of parts outside and moved all my moms stuff to the other two bays and the back rooms. Took down a dividing wall, wasnt stuctual, just divided the 4 bay into 2 2 bay units. Took down some benches and shelving. Took out 2 windows, let light into the back rooms. Oh, and the must fun, pulled the nonfunctional chimney down.

After all that was done, ordered wood and i started framing everything up and this is how far i got.

Hopefully tomorrow or toward the end of the week, ill be able to frame up the stairs and ill be able to put the subfloor down and finish things up upstairs.

Well his girl was away for a week and he had nothing better to do. Been talking about it for a while and he just called me and asked me when we would start on the loft. Kept calling me during work so i decided to take a few days off. Anyway... he owed me, i had to do all the b**** work on his '34 pickup.

But now that hes gone... im on my own. Messed up the stairs today so i guess ill be redoing them. Had it all planed out but sometimes the best plans never work.

Looking good. How much room will you have on the loft once it's finished?

Its gonna be about 6 1/2 feet to the ridge so ive got plenty of room.
