Looks great so far. Looking forward to the build pics. What did the GC backfill with? It looks like the same stuff you were digging up. Now you need to fill us in on the particulars!!! Size, height, etc.

I am using these designs http://www.behmdesign.net/threecargarages.aspx model 1080
modified slightly. I will be using cathedral trusses over the
third "bay" to maximize the ceiling height. and using a 9 ft door there.

The other is a 16 ft. door. 10 foot ceiling height in the double "bay"
I have to match or be slightly below the existing height of the
house.
I am also adding a bath room in the rear corner. I will
have a 4x5 ft. room for the commode and put a deep sink
( laundry type) outside of bathroom. It will sure be nice to
wash your hands before going in the house.

The fill is really undisterbed soil, they scraped about 6-8 inches of
topsoil to get the right depth. I thought sand or gravel base would
be required, but you should have seen how hard the soil was.
The excavater could not even make tracks in it
I will be putting 6 inch
reinforcement mesh for the concrete and
3500psi concrete for the slab. Of course there will be 2
layers of 4mil poly to help stop water intrusion.

If you can't tell I am getting really excited about this.
