Started building my cabinets finally. They're based on the design that redman43 built in this thread. I changed them a bit. I used smaller dimensional lumber for the shelf frames because I didn't think I would need the strength of thicker lumber. I can stand on these frames without the plywood and they will support my weight of 265 pounds. So I figure that sufficient. I'm doing nearly one whole wall.
Missing the last 2x4 on the end. One of the boards I bought was really awfully twisted. I installed it in the second to last position but it was literally twisted over 3/4 inch over the last 4 feet. So I took that one out and used the last one on that support. My car is in the shop and I don't have a car long enough to buy a 2x4, so I guess it'll have to wait for a few days.
Decided to do 2 banks of two different heights. I figure if the spaces are too tall I can just build a small shelf inside the shelf.
I have a lot of the yeller tools.
This is the newest and the star of this project. Drives the lags in easily and it's really light.
Had to clean out the garage because we got a new car. This:
needs to get into the garage so it can get close to this:
in order to get charged up. Didn't buy it for tree hugger reasons but to get access for my wife to the carpool lane on her daily commute.
When it's all done I'm going to install bypass doors on the front to keep the dust out and to just make it look cleaner.
